Does the Mac mini accept any other optical media like audio CDs, DVDs or other kinds it should support?
What does it say in System Profiler > Hardware >> Serial-ATA >>> "optical drive"?
You could make screenshots (http://guides.macrumors.com/Taking_Screenshots_in_Mac_OS_X) if you are unsure.
How to attach an image to your MR post. (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?p=11836587#post11836587)

Any info on what they expect for tomorrow?
They won't ever say. It seems like you may have to line up tonight and stay the night.

Why European mobile service is better.
Almost everyone gets free incoming minutes.
Yeah, and you also let the person calling you pay a tarriff up to four times the rate of a fixed line call. Calling a mobile number can cost five times as much as making an international call 20.000 kilometres away. Ever wonder why Europeans don't use their mobiles to make voice calls? :)

Adding it to the a fifth is not hard.
Certainly not, but it doesn't sound like this is their plan at all. Not to mention, what is the point of implementing GSM on new frequencies?

It's Western Digital. Enough said. Take it back and get Seagate of any kind.
And then the IT guy inside of me wants to know if you tried restarting your computer yet?

I see you are back in full force. I have been avoiding the whole 6G thing since the performance of most multichannel cards with standard drives is fine. If you are running an array based on SSD drives then I can see the value at this time, but no mechanical drive is going to max out 3G (SATA II) at this time. BTW Nano, running an xserve now, made life so much easier. Have two Sans Digital SAS Chassis, 316X2, dual SAS connectors for 2400MB/S performace, and it has made dealing with raid simple. No more time out errors, no more hard drives dropping out, nothing. Not sure if plunking down $2500 per chassis is worth it but for me with no headaches it was.
Peace,
Noushy

We will continue to innovate on all fronts throughout the remainder of the year.
that is a great statement from Jobs, can't wait to see what turns out besides osx lion & ios 5.
hardware wise, imac & macbook need upgrades. and since mbp was released in feb, perhaps a new one will be out by christmas , being 10 months ( max time ever between cycles) if not i bet the all new design, blade ssd, new enclosure and Ivy Bridge will debut in jan. whatever happens, apple has a lot in store

Not sure whether you've got Muji in the U.S. UK & Japan, yes...
Still, you may find it or something similar somewhere.

I'm freakin sick of the ITMS.
I love iTunes and my iPod, but purchasing music that can only be put on an iPod is crap. There may be a better player out later which I want to go to and then *poof* my ITMS purchased tracks are crap.
www.allofmp3.com
It's (significantly) cheaper.
It's better.
'Nuff said.
AllofMP3 is exactly how all music selling sites should be. The possibility to choose exact what quality you want is great, no DRM is great, the price is of course also great.
If only the artists would get paid it would be perfect.

hi,
what been missed out in this discussion is that the ACD has no HDCP support !!! that means no protected Blueray HD content plays
( maybe thats why there is no blue ray option yet !)
and even when DVI is compatible to HDMI , without HDCP the ACD stays black, which makes the name Cinema a bit obsolete ,

Have you tried setting reminders/alarms in iCal.
Works well for me.
I tried using iCal when I first switched over in '06. I integrated my Google calendar with it, but stopped using it because I often access my calendar in places other than my home computer. So I stuck with Google calendar and its "cloud" capabilities.
I know I can get MobileMe to access my iCal anywhere, but I rather not pay for a service when there's free (though shoddy like google cal) alternatives out there.

If they're stored they're not available to you. They're probably kept for data mining purposes.

Nope, vniow, I can't load it in Opera, Firefox, Camino, IE6 or 7. Only Safari. On Windows I had to download the file and open it in GIMP.
I think I figured it out. Its not a JPG file, its saved in something called Adobe Planar RGB or at least that's what the Get Movie Info says in Quicktime. Its not the size, its the format.

thanx jiminaus,
when i typed
which perl
/opt/local/bin/perl
i tried to update that with macports, macports failed to do that.
so now,when i type
which perl
/usr/bin/perl
and when i type "/usr/bin/perl -V" it says that "useithreads=define"
so we are ok now.
but, the command "perl -V" instead of "/usr/bin/perl -V"
it says /opt/local/bin/perl: No such file or directory
so, could you please tell me how i can point to the perl implementation installed in /usr/bin/perl instead of returning me the macports location ?
thanx a lot

Sorry -- *APPLE*-shift-delete. I'm still carrying around Windows remnants too, so I always seem to confuse Apple and Option when I write them out. ;)
The date deleted part is a good point. And I don't have an answer for that. :(
:) Thanks - I'll try the Apple key combo when I'm back at home tonight. I suppose for the date deleted bit I'll have to find the right combo of -ctime or -atime or whatever in the UNIX find command and go that route. Just hoping to be able to do it from the GUI for convenience - esp. in situations where I want to get rid of all but one or two files older than 30 days, etc.
Thanks,
Sean

In any case, hardly surprising. I like Microsoft software, but they sure can suck out the excitement of doing just about anything.

Hello, I am new to the site and am glad to be on board. I am not a computer person just a low end user! I have the original blueberry Mac, keyboard and want to sell it. I had the drive cleared so it is like new. How does one go about selling it?;) MS
Just like BennieBoy said, It's against the rules to sell things outside of the marketplace forum, which you cannot see until you gain 250 posts.
If I were you, I would try Craigslist or Kijiji before anything else.
