PRAM/NVRAM has nothing to do with fans, power, or the OP's issues. SMC does.
I'm also loosing control from the trackpad.
Resetting I/O which the trackpad is part off might help no?

Cool, but it's not for me. I need optical storage, better CPU and GPU, more ports. All the same reasons why I never bothered with a netbook :p.

We'll have to forget 4.3.1-4.3.2 untethered jailbreak for a bit guys..
i0n1c: The iOS 4.3.1/4.3.2 untether exploits require root access to install. Therefore they cannot be used with iPad2 without further exploits.
I'm hoping that comex will release his damn 4.3 jailbreak, what is he waiting for ?

Why don't you just split the audio with a Y adapter so that you don't have to switch it. It will just always be active. This to me seems like a cheaper and better solution.

I had Googled for a Roman Numeral for "million" but came up unsatisfied.
According to what I remember and the sites I saw, to get Roman Numerals higher than Thousands(M), you would need to put a bar over the numerals, which effectively multiplies the numeral by 1000.
So instead of MMMMM, you could use a V-bar, such as:
_
V = 5,000
And for one million you'd have the following called an M-bar:
_
M = 1,000,000
Though I bet most people that see the icon would be like 'what in the...'

1.0.2 version is out
Has anyone tested it to see if it works on VPN or not? I'm not at home so I don't want to update from work and not be able to watch TV the rest of the day.

I have a 2009 Mac Mini. I recently upgraded the RAM, and while I was working in the Mini, the Bluetooth antenna cable became detached. I've tried to reconnect it, but the Bluetooth no longer works in the device. This is the extent of my knowledge of the problem.
Unfortunately, the warranty expired a few weeks ago, and regardless of that, I'm the one who hosed it so it's my burden to bear.
One local Mac repair shop here in Austin quoted me "about" $40 plus parts (if necessary) to repair it.
Is that about right? Any former geniuses here know about how much Apple would charge for this out-of-warranty fix?
I will call Apple -- but I want to be prepared, which is why I'm polling this trusted community.

Apple will probably update iPods with a slight tweak to their DRM, breaking any music people have downloaded from anyone other than Apple.

This has not really been the case, though. When VHS was replaced by DVD, you didn't get the new media for free. Being locked into a particular platform occurs all the time--toner cartridges for printers aren't standardized, for example. I can't use Comcast's on demand to buy programs, then switch to DirecTV and have them transferred. When I buy the latest video game, it doesn't come packaged with PS2, PC, Mac, and XBOX versions.
See the theme? If you choose a limited hardware platform, you must accept the constraints of that platform. CDs are universal because the standard was universal (Sony, Philips, etc. formed a consortium from the get-go)--multiple manufacturers make CD players. Here, the content is the same but the packaging is different--cassette, CD, M4A. Only Apple makes M4A players.
By purchasing a song from iTunes, you are receiving the file with limitations. The reason for the price is bundling. If you want a product with no restrictions, which you want to use to the fullest extent of fair use (or beyond, if you so choose), you have to look elsewhere. You're not being denied fair use when you rent a movie on VHS for $2 when the DVD rental is $4...and you don't get to rent the VHS, then make a DVD just to save $2. Likewise, you're not paying for an unrestricted copy of the song on iTunes, and you aren't entitled to treat it as such using "fair use" as an excuse.
If you want unencumbered music, pay for the CD. If you want instant gratification and a lower price, then be an adult and accept the DRM. The option you want is out there and legally available--it's just that CDs are a "bad value." Likewise, iTunes tracks are probably a "bad value" to many people who think 99 cents should entitle them to DRM-free files. Should DRMed digital files be cheaper? I think so. But that's no excuse to go beyond the clear and publicized terms of my payment.
Nobody wants to buy things twice, but that's no excuse. I have piles of spare tools that fit cars I no longer own; toner cartridges for printers I no longer own; memory cards for cameras I no longer own; and floppy disks for computers I no longer own. Each time I switch companies, I have to deal with the consequences of my prior purchases.
Bravo Bravo Bravo my friend!;)

Better they use the same gestures etc. as Apple if they are going to push forward with multi-touch. We don't want to end up in 10 years time with a situation where every device has a different method for doing the same thing!
So true.
It drives me up the wall in CAD programs when they all choose their own way for common actions like view manipulations. For the sake of everyone who has to learn the programs... use the same conventions!
Same for things with canvases, and control or alt or scrolling drags for left/right/up/down movement.

I was doing some restoration work on an 18thC mansion in Mayfair at the time. Heard it on the radio. Went back to work after an expletive-filled 20 minutes. Caught up with it later on TV. I'm afraid my first thought on seeing it was: "Wow! That's a hell of a piece of flying!".

Cool.
I've already removed the HD from the 12".
I've had a a look at ifixit for the 15" and it certainly does look A LOT more straightforward I have to say!
Great. Let us know how it all works out.

Thanks, I thought it was something behind the scene going on. And just to clarify this point, can we still use it as a MDP? Or will Apple have to put out a separate port for those who want the MDP.
It is better than MDP, as it supports chaining of two external monitors from the one port, which MDP does not. Plus like a further 4 TB devices as well all in the chain.

Looks good! Only thing I'm not fond of are the bigger avatars (although I will be making mine bigger to fit in), the huge text capabilities (I think this will be abused) and the different colored smilies. But that's just IMHO! ;) The rest of it looks great. Good job!

i think you should slow it down, and maybe pause a bit longer at the end. It rushes - i don't get the chance to absorb it. Maybe him drawing a comma might help convey the million idea. I do like it, but i prefer your existing one - it uses timing really well.
