Ugh...I put things in my closets I don't want to see out. And as I a, somewhat of a pack rat, that baby's stuffed.

Nope, sorry. The iBook G4 uses PC-333 laptop RAM (IIRC, I sold my iBook G4 1GB RAM stick to a user on here) while the MacBook uses either DDR2 (PC2-8500) RAM. Plus, the physical pin layout on MacBook RAM is different than the physical pin layout on iBook RAM.

So those of us that are still using 3gS's (that are on their last leg) should prolly go ahead and get a 4, and then wait for the 6...
Not so awesome news, I shoulda got a 4 a few months back then, oh well, maybe I'll wait to see what the white 4 looks like if its released on the 26th...
Well, I have a iPhone 3GS and I'm not waiting for the iPhone 6 I want the faster processor the A5 chip and better camera. I already had to skip a generation due to upgrade eligibility. Why skip 2? Fo those of you who have the iPhone 4 that is another scenario but if it were me and my upgrade was eligible I's upgrade.

Because your "main" window is a NSPanel, it's responding NO to canBecomeMainWindow. In Cocoa terms, you don't have a main window. That's why applicationShouldTerminateAfterLastWindowClosed: is being sent to your application delegate when the user closes the about box. You're unconditionally responding with YES, so you're app terminates.
You have 2 choice.
a) Subclass NSPanel so canBecomeMainWindow responds YES. That way you will have a main window and your application delegate won't be sent applicationShouldTerminateAfterLastWindowClosed: when the about box is closed.
b) Or check to see if you're HUD panel is open in applicationShouldTerminateAfterLastWindowClosed: and respond NO if it is.
EDIT: What kainjow said. :)

cool! looks like i wasn't too late, was able to save my 4.3.1 blob.
now should i upgrade from 4.3 to 4.3.2? is there any use in staying on 4.3? It sounds like any JB for ipad 2 will be with 4.3.1

I wonder if apples hardware sales would start to drop if they were to announce that there will be no more work towards a jailbreak on future devices

This sure sounds pretty flimsy for something you're gonna spend that much money on.
$170 and no promise it'll keep working?
Also, am I not understanding something? Shouldn't this be massively illegal to the point where the people paying the $170 could also be charged with a crime? Maybe I just don't understand what "accessing the database" means. It sounds to me like it means hacking into private Apple-owned computers. Is that not what this is?

No matter what message board about mobile phones that you might stumble across, it's always the same story: Europe has a better system. I'm *still* waiting for someone to elaborate on what the N. American providers aren't providing.
I have 3G service for my laptop. I'm sorry I signed up even though I'm not the one paying for it. Wi-fi service has become so ubiquitous that 3G is hardly needed if all you're using it for is web browsing and e-mail. Is there anything else it's useful for that people actually want?
By the way, it's Deutche Telekom that's last to the 3G party in N. America.

I agree, It would annoy everyone else in the rest of the world as well. ;)
Annoy?? Can a phone refresh REALLY annoy somebody? If your answer is YES then you have no life and sorry to say you're just a kid with issues.

I got a Samsung BX2431 24" with a max of 1080, which I've found really nice. I spent all day in the library using a 24" iMac, so I was able to get a sense for the differences when I got home. The big thing is to calibrate the Samsung properly. Other than that, the Samsung monitor seems to have less color gamut, but is still very bright and almost as sharp.

Hey all, I currently live in Japan, and would like to get some experiences working at Apple. I haven't decided which floor I would like to work at, but it will most likely be the Genius Bar.
Now, to get in to my main point, is it possible to work at the Apple Store under the age of 18? I have no idea about the labor laws, work permit, and things like that, but I just to make sure. I saw on other thread that in state of Nevada, a person should be above the age of 16 to get a job.
BTW, I'm 17 currently.

don't dropbox require you to verify your email before you can complete registration?
That's what I'm thinking. They actually need to sign up in order for that box to appear for them as a user.

I guess I'm not particularly surprised, and I wish we could hear all the reasoning that went into the decision (which, of course, we won't). But given that VMware just about owns the x86 virtualization market and has announced its foray into the Mac universe, I imagine Microsoft figured it'd be a lot of work for what figures to be very little profit.
It's not like we don't have options - I can't imagine Virtual PC will be missed. Those of us still using PowerPC processors can still buy VPC 7.

Nothing to do with the Air.... but Firefox 4.0 has a confirmed memory leak that will eventually choke your OS, unless you shut down FF frequently.
Not worth it IMO, until they get this fixed. There is also an issue with tabs and with startup remembering previous sessions.
Haven't had either of those issues. Whatever problems there were they fixed it in 4.01

Hey,
I have 600 GB Apple Lossless songs, which I would like to play in my Itunes library along with the other AAC and Mp3 songs I have there also.
Problem is when I need to have some of my lossless songs on my Iphone player, I need to convert them into AAC format so they take up less space - but is it possible to have the same songs in two fomats in iTunes and how can I make a system like Sonos see this

Passkey? So I downloaded the file on that site and opened that Fah6 thing, and it is asking for a passkey. Do I have to do anything else other than that? And how can I have it run automatically?
