Right now I can buy 8 gigs of PNY RAM (4gb x 2) for $50 on Newegg (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?SID=u999238t2878689f9fp0dd0c0s701&AID=10440897&PID=1225267&nm_mc=AFC-C8Junction&cm_mmc=AFC-C8Junction-_-cables-_-na-_-na&Item=N82E16820178335 , Coupon Code: "NEWGEEK10" for new customers) but I've read some mixed reviews. Anyone have personal experience with PNY RAM or can recommend a better brand to buy from? I'm new to installing RAM.

This is a sound move by MS. I wonder how many jobs get lost when a decision like this is made?

lol 1 last question is is it 1 cable or do i have to buy the adapter? i looked online for just one cable but i keep getting the adapter instead of 1 cord. but my guess is that you have a regular optical cord then plug the 1 end into the adapter? :S
It is one cable, as shown here:

I've always heard that the Zune was a good device, but Microsoft just did an abysmal job at marketing.

Cry babies.
They can't take away office... They signed a 5 year contract to continue makeing Office for mac at MWSF 2006.
That doesn't mean they have to make the best product they can or the one users want! All the macros I make for use on PC and mac are now going to be useless soon. Of course, MS corporate is well aware of this. This totally sucks for macro users.

As you probably know, neither 13" model has a dedicated GPU, so serious gamers tell us they're not terribly well suited to gaming. Aside from that, I should think either would be a fantastic computer for school. If you had the money and didn't mind the larger screen, you could certainly look at the 15" models, but otherwise I'd probably save my money and go for the cheapest 13".

does it make any sense that only real places in tarrant county to get apple stuff are southlake and the bestbuy in grapevine? wouldnt it make sense for bestbuy to put them in somewhere else?
My thought exactly. I would rather have a root canal than drive from SW Ft. Worth to Southlake.

Ah, sounds great. I'm glad you're acknowledging the MacRumors Community, giving it a vote of confidence.
One question for you Arn. When you first started this site, would have expected it to have turned into what you see today or were you hoping for something else?

HOW much?
I got it for $185, so I think $100 sounds pretty fair.

To wipe your data and reinstall OS X: (this is what you'll want to do, so it's set up as if the new owner was buying a brand new mac)
Insert the OS X install disc
boot your mac while holding C
Go to utilities > Disk utility
Select your hard disk in the top left
go to the erase tab
choose Mac OS X Extended (Journalled) and any name you want ("Macintosh HD" is probably preferable)
security options > Zero out data (only if you're paranoid about the new owner being able to recover your data, if not don't bother)
erase
then continue the install process
I dont have the option to go to Utilities. It goes right into OSX install. Should I continue the Mac OSX setup?

My friend told me last night that the BYU Bookstore has plenty of iPad 2s. You can just walk in and buy one. (You may want to call ahead to see if that's true though.)
Yesterday (Wednesday) morning I went to the Gateway. (I had an Apple Store gift card so couldn't have used it at the BYU Bookstore had I known about that anyway.) I got there at 7:40 AM. There were about 40 people in line ahead of me, and about 60 people lined up after me. Everyone got iPad 2s.
Apple Store employees stopped by the line every 15 minutes or so and handed out tickets. They got to me about 3 minutes after I arrived. At that time they were out of AT&T 3G 16GBs (both colors) so I got two 32GBs instead.
They are very wary of scalpers. They made sure I had never bought any before from anywhere (by asking me) before they would give me the tickets.
They started letting groups into the store at 9:00. I got in about 9:30 and had my iPad 2s at 9:45.
They wouldn't talk about anything other than iPad 2s until 10:00, so at 10:00 I asked about wireless mice. I didn't realize that the old Mighty Mouse (now Apple Mouse) no longer comes in a wireless version, but only the Magic Mouse does. My old wired Mighty Mouse is getting frayed, so I wanted a new wireless one. Multitouch is fine but the new Magic Mouse doesn't seem to have a way to bring up the dashboard like the old Mighty Mouse does. I'll probably end up getting a Magic Mouse and just retraining myself to use the keyboard key for the dashboard...
Anyway, some other people in line said it was their second time trying. They said Tuesday morning the store only had like 30 iPad 2s. And on Saturday or so they only had 6. So it's still hit and miss.

Okay thankyou to both of you :) and I will probably prefer a more portable device as i do not need a particularly large hard drive, just something to back up my files. I have had a search on amazon and there seems to be many which are suitable size. Thank you again.

No offense, but that fix looks bloody awful.
Ditto. I thought the guy/gal who did the patch was making a bad funny.

Managed to snag the 32gb but really want 64gb. Anyone want the opposite and am willing to trade plus cash diff? I am in So Cal and would only want to do this via a local transaction.

Using PS in x64 mode can use a lot a RAM, a medium to large file 500MB~1GB can make use of excess of 20GB RAM. then throw in other active apps... I have seen these numbers using the Activity Monitor. I am using 4*8GB OWC sticks

Can I redownload any TV Shows in 640x480 (crosses fingers) :p
B
That's what I've been hoping for ever since I downloaded the first TV shows on iTunes. 320x240 was not exactly fullscreen goodness even at 1024x768.

By creating an Alternate OS thread if people wanted to yap about Android/Windows/Etc they could go there and keep the other threads clear.
No, it wouldn't. People don't bother to post relevant replies in the proper "mega threads" in the first place (take a look at the daily "Just got my MBP" threads as an example). Plus, Android/Windows/whatever threads are often on different enough topics that merging them would cause accusations of stifling discussion of alternative OSs.

Hi guys,
I'm dusting off my OpenGL Superbible and going at it again and I was setting everything up in XCode 4 (The book uses three but I don't think that matters).
Anyway I got everything running except I get this warning that I don't know how to resolve.
I attached a picture of them so that it is easier to see (since the warnings wont copy and paste in) but also have included it here. The project runs and builds perfectly fine, but for some reason this error still shows up.
Here is the error but attached is a picture too:
