I just don't get the obsession with crippled anorexic laptops. The latest 15" MacBook Pro could stand to be force fed a BBQ sandwich or 5, get the ExpressCard slot back on it.
Hell, I'd prefer a MacBook Pro 15" more like a Toughbook.
A USB-only Air makes baby Jesus cry. Maybe if/when it gets thunderbolt.

This is a very informed opinion. If you ain't yet, you should become a politician (preferably in the equally tolerant ruling party). They have great use for people with a such deep understanding of things.

Actually, I've read the same about "DVD Jon". Apparently he stole most of the code for DeCSS anyway, and the part he wrote was pretty pitiful. I've read some of his forum posts and he certainly doesn't sound like an intelligent guy. He might have had somebody else do the reverse engineering and just put his name on it so that the media would run a story along the lines of "Guy who cracked DVD encryption crack's iTunes encryption also!"

Microsoft has announced that it has halted development on a universal version of VirtualPC.
In a statement on Monday, Microsoft said it "has made the decision not to move forward with a Universal version of Virtual PC at this time." -- via News.com (http://news.com.com/2100-1012_3-6102930.html?part=rss&tag=6102930&subj=news)
VirtualPC has long-been the king of the hill for Virtualization on Macintosh. With the Intel transition, however, came competitive pressure from Parallels (http://www.parallels.com/en/products/desktop/), which has since released the final version of its product, and VMWare which is showcasing a beta (http://www.macrumors.com/pages/2006/08/20060805151513.shtml) of its solution at WWDC.
Microsoft has claimed that to port VirtualPC to Intel would be much like making VirtualPC 1.0 all over again.
Because of how closely virtualization software is tied to an operating system, Microsoft said that moving Virtual PC to the Intel-based Mac would be "similar to creating a version 1.0 release."

They're good, but my 3 month old iPod has some scratches on the front now because some tiny bits of dirt must have gotten underneath the skin where it exposes the clickwheel. So now my perfect iPod has been scratched:( Also there are a couple of marks left by the screen protector.
Its good but its not pefect. The back is still mint though.
Has anyone tried the brasso thing on the front? I don't wanna do it and have to report back that it obliterated my iPod!

There's already a thread started about it, but not a whole lot of people are talking for whatever reason...

Regardless of when it comes out, this version will likely get the A5 if I had to guess. Next year will be the year of LTE plus a form factor change. The iPad 3 and iPhone 6 may actually keep the A5 for the first time in years (for the iPhone line).
I don't see a need for an A6 until foundries move to the 28 nm node and apple can either shrink and clock the current A5 higher (while still getting better battery life) or go quad core. When 2013 hits we can start talking about Eagle designs hitting smartphones.

I bought the VESA adapter and an Ergotron desktop stand for my 24" iMac so I could lower it more than the stock stand would allow.

Hi, I have a really weird request. I live outside the UK (U.S.) and downloaded a U.K. song only available in U.K. iTunes. I like to download my album artwork from iTunes for my music. However, because I live outside the U.K., I cannot download the album artwork for the song (need a U.K.-region-billing Apple ID). Soo...I was wondering if somebody could
(1)go into your iTunes
(2)Pick a song in your library that doesn't have any artwork
(3)right-click, "Get Info"
(4)change "Album Artist" to "David's Lyre" "Album" to "In Arms (Remix) - EP"
(6) Click "OK"
(7) Right-click, "get album artwork", "OK"
(8) Right-click on the artwork in the bottom left of iTunes and click "Copy."
(9) Open the "Paint" program. When loaded, press cntrl+v on your keyboard. Save the image to your desktop.
(10) Upload the saved image to an online photo hosting site such as ImageShack or PhotoBucket and send me the image's URL or post it here as a response
...or at least that's how I worded it to a probably-not-super-iTunes-savvy-individual on a random U.K. chat room I found...ha ha ha:rolleyes:
Basically, all I want is for someone in the U.K. with an Apple ID to "Get Album Artwork" in iTunes for album "In Arms (Remix) - EP" by [Album] Artist "David's Lyre" and upload the image on an image hosting site such as ImageShack and post/PM me the URL.
I WOULD just get the album artwork from online, but a quality image is NOWHERE to be found. (200x200 is the biggest one) I also got the song outside of iTunes, in case you were wondering how I got a hold of it in the first place.
It'd be awesome if someone could do this for me! It's honestly really simple, and if you download artwork from iTunes all the time, this should be a piece of cake! Thanks a ton!:D

I like the idea of the air but I wouldn't touch one until they get a modern CPU in there. Core 2 Duo doesn't cut it in 2011.
It does for those of us who want an extremely light and small laptop running OS X but don't care a fig for specs. I would contend that there are many such people.

I had the mStand as well but as Knight mentions, it didn't suit the MacBook Air as good as it does with Apple's other MacBooks, so I let it go and just recently purchased the Griffin Elevator. I must say I really like this stand and its minimal approach matches the MBA aesthetics very well in my opinion.
Also, since it has a smaller incline than the mStand, your able to tilt your Macbook's screen further back.
Very nice and highly recommended.

Good god, are you seriously suggesting that if you don't need a 2560 x 1600 resolution you don't need a computer? Hahaha... just quit while you're behind, man.

Agreed!
Pinkerton is one of my favorite albums of the '90s!

Hey,
So I am looking to buy a used/new iPhone. It has to be in good/working condition, has to be 8GB version, and you have to be willing to ship to Canada (which isn't a big deal). And PayPal is a must.
I am offering $370 Shipped OBO.
Either post here, PM me or email me at william@williamwilkinson.com with your offers.

I have a lot of HD movies, that I tried transferring to my PS3.
After reading a lot, I decided to transfer via Nulliver Media Link, since I could do it direct since each file was over 4 gb.
After transferring, a typical movie was reduced in size by 1/4. For example, a movie from my mac was 8.6gb, when it arrived to the PS3 it was 1.9gb
Upon replay on the PS3 the movie looks horribly compressed.
Why did this happen?
How can I avoid this, is there another way of transferring large files?
Thanks,
Gabriel

Yeah, try the rub out method. It didn't work on my Tibook, 1 green at mid center of screen.
I have found a use for the pixel. It's a great place to park your cursor when not in use...also great to index item locations in a drawing...
Sorry

It's not OS X or Snow Leopard problem.
Never experienced anything you mentioned here.
Sounds like you installed something that messed with the system.

No there's no magnet keeping it closed but I havent found it to be a problem. Maybe for the review cuz Im moving it around so much. But during regular use I have it either in stand position or flapped back. It's solidly built and it made of great quality material. I've ordered another for my wife.
