That would be cool, but there could be a hitch: A lot of those lyric sites get shut down, because you're supposed to license the lyrics from the publishing company in order to be able to use them. So this could cost Apple a lot of money in the long run.
Lee TomMaybe Apple would only have to pay if it showed you the full lyrics. If, instead, it let you type in a portion of the lyrics and then showed you songs that match (not the lyrics of those songs), it wouldn't involve royalties. I'm not sure how they get the lyrics in the first place, though.
Also, if the Music Store sold more songs because of the new "lyric database" feature, they could let you download the lyrics for any song you purchased (sort of like album art), pay a royalty, and maybe still come out ahead because of the increased sales.
What percentage of tunes have "official" lyrics of some kind, i.e., published by the artist or label instead of by fans who might guess or might transcribe them incorrectly?

Hi! This might be a bit difficult but would be very useful for me posting at my blog.
I would like to have something like this: (example of a page talking about the iBook)
Check for (link)Ibooks(/link) on Ebay
I would like this to be automatically at the end of the page when I write a post on the blog.
I dont know PHP very well but i was thinking something like this:
At each page, I could add a value like Value=Ibook G4 and then make it make a custom ebay URL that searches for Ibook G4 (thats easy to do).
I would insert all those codes at the PHP theme file for where the posts appear and just add ex: value=iBook G4 in my posts everytime
(I already have adsense ads that appear automatically)
Anyone here know their PHP/HTML to help me out doing this?
Thanks!
Theres nothin hard really about this, just when you type in your blog content add this in
<a href="http://search.ebay.co.uk/search/search.dll?cgiurl=http%3A%2F%2Fcgi.ebay.co.uk%2Fws%2F&fkr=1&from=R8&satitle=iBook&category0=" >NAME OF LINK e.g IBooks On E-Bay</a>

i picked it up about a month ago and am very happy that i did. i played a lot of Metal Slug as a kid and it was always one of my favorite games. I also absolutely love the artwork, but i also love the comedy thrown in as well. i'm happy that they have unlimited continues but i also like the ability to limit your continues so you can test yourself because the Metal Slug series is freaking HARD.

This is the first thing that I thought of.
Clothes for work is another - I just buy the cheapest I can get away with.
Supermarket diesel over the brand names any day.

Comex has been updating his twitter, not sure if any of you follow it or not:
@comex: yeah, uh. I can find kernel exploits, but this is ridiculous.
@comex: As noticed by @0naj, my kernel exploit was fixed in 4.3.1.
@comex: I try not to be paranoid, but it is really hard to explain this as anything but a leak.
@comex: The funny thing is that my "new" kernel exploit is actually the kernel exploit used by JailbreakMe 2.0. It was never properly fixed.
@comex: It stayed there from 4.0.2 through 4.3, but was magically found in time for 4.3.1. well, go go @MuscleNerd and @i0n1c I guess
It doesn't seem to be looking very good for 4.3.1

The whole resolution independance thing terrifies me. I just know we'll see some vendor or Apple have these annoying huge UI's that we can't shrink back down to their proper size. I mean the reason we buy this huge monitors is to shrink the UI and maximize free space right???

Big screen TV's are a rip off...
Ummm...entertain me. Why do you think they're a rip off? (Keep in mind that "big" is a relative term. What do you consider a "big screen" TV? Thirty-two inches and up?)

I'm more just curious if there has been evidence that the typical response of "we only store them for a few days while we ensure delivery" is not always true. In a lot of crime investigations, it looks like the police look at the text messages stored on the phone itself.
At least in this case, they got the data from the operator as they clearly said it. IIRC they got about a month worth of texts because they said there was something like 500 SMSs between the suspect and the victim. And yes, in this case the actual content of the SMS was stored as well, not just the date and number.
Again, this is Finland, not US, but I would still say they store them for more than a few days.

i know all the old iMacs would automatically shut down if the CPU got too hot. Do the G4's do the same thing? I don't know.

It's a cordless or wireless lapel mic. It shouldn't be hard to find one. Just do a searh on the internet. The link below is to an eBay store. The part hanging on your back is the mic transmitter. You will need a receiver as well to connect to an amplifier and speakers make a complete system.

Anyway, think yourself lucky - the majority of the planet cannot get movies or series content from iTunes.
Find the local representative for the hollywood theaters in your country, write em a note and let them know how happy you are with that.
For that matter if you have local television, write them and let them know that you want their shows on iTunes as well.
Apple isn't the holdout here, it's the greed of the studios. They'll come around once they see how much disney starts making from all of us wanting to try one out.
Just think, if the number of people who buy music, 50% of them buy a movie to check it out only the spike in revenue for something or other. I mean $9.99 is no more than a CD you've been buying...
Personally I'm tempted to buy Toy Story 1&2 because my kid has destroyed two DVDs in the last three years. He loves the movie, and no matter how hard I try to hide the DVDs when they are not in use he'll find them and bring them too you to have you put them in. This alone appeals to me in that I could get all the Pixar favorites, play them to an iTV, and never have to worry about him damaging a semi fragile optical disk.

Hi, I'm doing some research into the 10.6 OS I've come across two pieces of seemingly conflicting documentation.
In the Network Services Admin 10.6 PDF (http://images.apple.com/server/macosx/docs/Network_Services_Admin_v10.6.pdf) on pages 23-24 I'm reading "Mac OS X Server uses the xinetd process to manage many UNIX network services, such as FTP, finger, and so on. xinetd listens for requests on specific TCP/IP sockets and is a secure replacement for inetd. However, because xinetd does not handle RPC services well, inetd and xinetd are included with Mac OS X."
But Apple TN2083 (http://developer.apple.com/library/mac/#technotes/tn2005/tn2083.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/DTS10003794) says "Starting with Mac OS X 10.4, inetd and xinetd daemons are deprecated in favor of launchd daemons; a launchd daemon can specify a list of TCP and UDP ports to listen on as part of its property list file. Starting with Mac OS X 10.5, inetd and xinetd daemons are no longer supported. However, it's easy to run an existing inetd or xinetd daemon by creating and installing a simple launchd property list file (resulting in an inetd-compatible launchd daemon). For an example of this, check out /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/finger.plist."
Can anybody shed some light on this? I have a feeling the TN is correct, but it would make me sad to find out that Apple's own server documentation is out of date. I'd attempt to poke around in the system myself, but sadly I can't afford a copy of 10.6 server. Lion can't come fast enough!
Thanks in advance for any info anybody can provide.

I'm not buying the iPhone 6 timeline.
why would Apple release a new phone 6 months (or less) later? That will just piss both AT&T AND Verizon users who upgrade to the 5.
I agree, It would annoy everyone else in the rest of the world as well. ;)

I save a Pages document in Word format and when I open it in Word there are 2 extra pages, the original document has 2 pages full of word lines.
Word is seeing the document with 5 extra lines for each page, therefore the two page document is now 4 pages in Word.
The paper size is the same: letter.
The margins are also the same.
The formatting seems to be the same: font size, paragraphs, bullets and tabs.
The versions I am using are Pages '09 and Word 2011.
My question is if you have any idea on how to make the document the same in Word with only 2 pages.
I need to create this document in Word.
