I'm staying on 4.3 until something definitive comes out jailbreak wise. Why bother risking anything.

Michael Moore? I stopped paying attention when you said that.
Interested to hear your explanation of this.

my old band did our demos in GB and it turned out pretty good for being demos, but as far as professional software goes, I still stick with protools and reason.

I went over to Illustrator, which I was trying to avoid and produced this arrow. It's OK but wondered if you can move the origin of the dashed line starting position, because when it kicks off from a corner or point, it can end up leaving a gap at an important change. I also noticed a small 'crack' in the dashed line on the right of the arrow head - peculiar.
Any way, I'm still keen to find a quality Photoshop solution if someone knows how.

Yeah I don't think so. Unless you scale it to an exact multiple, it's going to look like crap.
With subpixel anti-aliasing (how OS X does it now), it will scale well to any size. Naturally it will get a little blurry, but it depends how you define "look like crap" as to whether it will be acceptable or not.
The real problem is that this antialiasing is an expensive operation. Maybe they can do it all on the GPU now...but they're going to have to cache those pictures somewhere. This why its a good thing that # of cores are going up and memory is getting cheaper, we will be using lots more of each when we turn on all the candy in 10.5

Regardless of the rumors, the next iPhone needs to have LTE and a larger screen. I live in an area that won't see LTE for some time, and yet LTE will be a factor in my next phone purchase. And a larger screen would be very nice. After playing with many of these new android devices, I don't see the disadvantages I expected with larger screens.
And whether the next iphone comes out summer or fall is a non-issue to me. Holding a new iPhone until early 2012, however, would be a big mistake. Even fragmented and subject to the bloatware whims of carriers, android is a significant competitor.

It would be helpful to have integrated debugging, but I imagine this might not be possible since I am going to be using WebGL. In the least I would want syntax coloring, as strong error checking as possible prior to runtime, good facilities to manage lots of files and revisions, and some facilities to speed up workflow. Any advice?
Vim.
Debugging is mainly handled within the browser. Chrome and Firefox are especially good at this (Firefox has Firebug which is useful and the standard Chrome dev tools are top notch too).

They're really lumping iOS and *ANDROID* sales together?
Doesn't Android get something like 1% of the sales iOS gets?
I was thinking the same thing

well what do you think?
The game is great looking visually, but I personally don't care for flight games. The last game based around planes that I enjoyed was U.N. Squadron on the SNES. That game was awesome.

+1 on redsn0w, super easy.

This sounds more like jail time to me. How is this different from me hacking in to someone's computer and then telling the world to come on in and take what you want.
You see, that's the beauty of this scheme. They're not taking anything from anyone. They're *giving* companies the ability to play nice with iPods.

Is it true that there are *no* shortcut keys for the media player? That the volume keys won't even work with the media player? I mean, I don't ask for much: volume up/down, prev/next track, play/pause.I haven't even used the media player (http://www.blackberry.com/knowledgecenterpublic/livelink.exe/fetch/2000/8021/7925/1269203/What_Is_-_Supported_media_files_on_the_BlackBerry_Pearl.html?nodeid=1270524) on my new Pearl except to watch the demo. The volume keys on the side of the phone do indeed control the volume in that application, but as far as shortcut keys, etc. I'm not sure. I just love the fact that it does e-mail and internet so well. The interface is very easy to move around in with center scroll button and predictive text is amazing. I can pop out full length e-mails in no time. It's also got a nice 1.3Mpx camera with flash...

Does anybody know how far this resolution independence goes? Meaning, if finder and the dock are the only things that are resolution independent, but office, ilife, etc. still turn tiny, no thanks. But does carbon and cocao mean that apps built on those (which/how many apps) will automatically be scalable?
It's system wide. All system interface controls will be resolution independent out of the box.

Hey all,
My boss is having an issue with his MacBook and InDesign.
First off let me say that we have CS4 installed on both the aformentioned MacBook as well as a new iMac we purchased for the office. But here's the deal, as soon as we start up InDesign on the MacBook after JUST MOVING THE MOUSE i get the "color wheel" and it just FREEZES and it stays there for ever, i let it "load" for about 5-10, even 20 minutes!
So I updated the software on the MacBook, updated the software on CS4- still the same problem.
Then, I UNINSTALLED CS4 on the MacBook, then Re-Installed it, just to have the same exact problem.
All my CS programs work perfectly fine on our iMac, but JUST InDesign doesnt work on the laptop. PLEASE HELP :(
I guess my question is :
1) Has this ever happened to any of you?
2) Is there a common solution to this problem?
3) Is there a phone number i can call for trouble shooting Adobe products? (i cannot seem to locate one on my CS4 disc or case)
Thank you all in advance :)

Another stunning set of results, only thing that anyone might nitpick is iPad sales but considering some were holding on for the iPad 2 and that product was DEFINITELY supply-limited it's still a superb performance and more than doubles their PC sales. Decimates the rest of the tablet space that's for sure and the q3 performance is going to be VERY interesting.
