The problem has now become constant so I moved my computer next to the TV and connected with a MDP to HDMI adapter and tried two different HDMI cables. When I switch the TV to the input I have connected the computer to it says "Retrieving Data" then says "No Signal" When I choose an unused input all I get is "No Signal." I then moved the computer back to the desk and reconnected everything. Since I have the computer set up as an extended desktop between the TV and the desk monitor and I had just connected the computer to only the TV it thought the TV connection was the main monitor and the desk monitor was the secondary. So I turned the TV back on to see if it was getting a signal and it was not. So I unplugged the MDP and I got the desktop back on my monitor. But if I go to system preferences and select Monitors it only sees the desk monitor.
My plan from here is to get another MDP-HDMI adapter and a MDP-DVI adapter. This way and I can swap the adapter going to the TV to see it it is the problem and I can connect my desk monitor to the computer using an MDP. Anyone have any other suggestions?

I have to agree here.
Until they find games that the 3D is actually part of game play (it is essential to the actual game and not just add on prettyness), it's just a nice extra but it's a gimmick and not enough to actually sell it over other devices. ANd I really don't see how 3d, at least how it is implemented in the Nintendo, can really be implemented to be part of game play and not just something to pretty up the screen. Sure, it adds to the experience, but it's not essential to the experience. You could play a similar game on another game player easily enough, just not as "pretty".
Any console/hand held in the end, if it is going to sell itself for playing games, has to get the games that make people want it to play them.
Not to rain on your parade but there will never be a game that requires 3D for the 3DS. It will always be optional because not everyone can use it/see it or at the very least can play it for as long before they are fatigued. Game designers probably won't be too keen to limit their market like that for something that would work just as well as a 2D game.
As far as iOS gaming and the virtual joystick kludge, I agree. It is like how in some very early console games/programs you had a full on mouse cursor that you controlled with the D-pad. How long did it take them to figure out that was a horrible idea? You have to design for the device, and not many developers are doing it (great examples of how not to do it are the various RPGs with maybe the exception of Battleheart but even that is a bit clunky). Personally, I hope someone ports a game like Aquaria or Ocarina of Time because I think touch based gaming is much better at music than console or keyboard & mouse because it can just give you a keyboard or some other simulation.

Or you could get a front IS and then save, and then get a case with a rubber lining to prevent scratches.

Its all about convergence.
If your on the go then its more convenient to play games on a smartphone - one device than carry around two.
At the moment - drawbacks over portable gaming consoles - (1) battery life (2) games on smartphones tend to have a lot less content.. but smartphone games tend to be signficantly cheaper. If you want a game containing depth then your not going to be looking at your smartphone at the moment.
In some countries its totally fine to watch TV on your smartphone too...

Not sure about that. I don't use these facilities much as 95% of my music is classical, which I really only need to list by album. I would assume the worst.

Imo... i hope you're paying little or nothing for either. The intuos 4 is nice but I actually found that 3 is the most durable. So I would definitely get one of those (I have no.4 myself). If working in PS is your job, why not spend a little on this item?
daamn, you just got me comparing the intous 2 vs. 3 and now i just cant settle with that old crap :) the buttons on each side, are they very useful?
its a leap from 100 to 250$, but from the looks of it i'll get something better?

I use the Windows Home Server provided backup agent (set and forget) to back up my W7 installs to the NAS. Acronis True Image Home 2010 is what I use for imaging and disaster recovery.
If you are on W7, the built in backup and imaging tools are supposed to be pretty decent, for once.

Thanks for the heads up. in the past, I've been disappointed with the built-in backup software.
Slightly off topic, How's windows home server. I'm running a single windows 7 box, though my wife uses an XP machine that needs backup capability as well. Would you think going to WHS be worthwhile? I use windows for work accessing servers on the corporate network and also running quickbooks.

I'm enjoying "Take control of Media on Your iPad" by jeff Carlson in the iBooks store: it has some depth.

Tin Drum will always be my favorite, along with Rain Tree Crow.
I'm going to have to go with Tin Drum, as well.
Remember Mick Karn's solo single "Buoy" with David Sylvian on vocals? That was a good jam.

Did Apple finally release a product that is too secure for the current jailbreakers? Maybe it's time for a new batch of them to step forward and show how it's done ;)

Finally. I've been flip-flopping for months over whether to get a Nook or a Kindle. I liked the Kindle more, but not being able to borrow library book almost nudge me towards the Nook. With this piece of news, Kindle is the clearly the reader for me.
go kindle. more titles and now this.
no brainer.

Best investment? A 4G MiFi. I'm traveling connecting through Chicago and I'm watching LiveTV as I wait for my next flight. The video quality over 4G is soooo much clearer than over 3G. It doesn't skip at all.

I vaguely remember reading somewhere that the iPad app is limited to 2 concurrent streams only. keep that in mind also.
That's exactly what I was thinking. I'll have to test if only the master account works in the iPad app.

Hi, I will not be camping out, however I am disabled and wonder if their nwill be a (special Line) for people that have disabled (PLACARDS). Also, does anyone know how long the pre reservation lines will be and how fast they will move, base on like (person #43) who is in line? Also, my reservation says 7 am, but could there be like a 1000 customers in the reservation line at 7 am? I'm just trying to get a (CLEAR UNDERSTANDING) of how long I will be in line because of my disability. Please let me know from past experiance.

Blizzard,
Thanks for the advice! :) I am using Safari so I don't know what it's limits are, but I have seen paste limits in Firefox before, but not in Safari.

This is a very informed opinion. If you ain't yet, you should become a politician (preferably in the equally tolerant ruling party). They have great use for people with a such deep understanding of things.

Actually, I've read the same about "DVD Jon". Apparently he stole most of the code for DeCSS anyway, and the part he wrote was pretty pitiful. I've read some of his forum posts and he certainly doesn't sound like an intelligent guy. He might have had somebody else do the reverse engineering and just put his name on it so that the media would run a story along the lines of "Guy who cracked DVD encryption crack's iTunes encryption also!"

Use OpenOffice (http://www.openoffice.org/), it's free and handles .ppt files great. It has its limitations but will serve your needs and you can't beat the price! :)
