It's standard setup game. Friends bidding to create hype, "sell" one for 12k so they can sell other 5 for at least some premium.
I don't understand people who have to have it the same day and actually pay the premium for this thing on ebay :confused:

Are you using striping from OS X or did you set you RAID 1 with only two drives?
I a new Mac Pro is not expected until 4Q 2011 or 2012. :eek: I do not want to wait that long for a stupid processor chipset. :D A few months is optimal, but 6-8 is not feasible. Thanks again for sharing knowledge and swapping ideas!
hey 100Teraflops glad your getting some good advice, the good monitor is a must for photography, check the dell 2209wa (i think it's still about) or the HP 2310i, both nice monitors, but the internal raid i have is a software raid 1 mirror, works well for my needs. Are you really sure you want to wait for the 'latest' Mac Pro? do you need the latest chipset? there are plenty of great deals on used machines, ideal for photography, save the $$$ on the MP and spend the rest on some quality Lenses, I know a photographer that uses a G5 with no problems :)
remember as firestater states, raid is no back up plan, I use a raid 1 external system as it suits my needs.

Could you PM me what you did to change the fonts? I checked out Wowzera's guide but Wowzera had taken down a certain file, and that was ages ago I checked.

i'll just post it here so if anyone else wants to do the same.
i just found a font that a member (Trimegistro) on mac themes ported. the name of the font is Candela. The post can be found HERE (http://macthemes.net/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=623585#p623585)
after you download it you will need to make a copy of it (**make sure the name is the same, aka not LucindaGrande-copy**). Then use one to replace the LucidaGrande.ttc file under /system/library/fonts make sure you totally delete this one before adding it first.
and the other to just replace the LucidaGrande.ttc file in /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/
Versions/A/Frameworks/ATS.framework/Versions/A/Resources/
ProtectedFonts/LucidaGrande.ttc
**BACK UP YOUR FILES**

Why would it not be? If you apply a 90% rate evenly to the top percentile, seems to me it would be quite fair. It would help fund the government assistance programs that will make it easier for him to survive on a paltry $500 million.

I plan to use bootcamp to install windows 7 in my mac to be able to use 3ds max for 3d rendering. I know bootcamp will provide better performance compared to parellel because it runs windows natively.
my question is, compared to a pc with about the same configuration as the mac, can bootcamp provide the same performance when using 3ds max? or will it still slightly decrease the performance since it is windows running on mac and not pc?

The only thing I can think of is that your iPod (or, not likely, iCal) is stuck on a wrong timezone (there are some half timezones), but it seems like a long shot...

Yeah, the clock's fine on both which is weird. My time-zone for my iPod is Tokyo which is about 1.5hrs behind but my actual time-zone doesn't appear as one of the options. The time-zone support option in iCal is disabled (by default). This is really weird, all the times in iCal are correct but they're just not syncing with the iPod well. I don't have anything else to sync which is a shame because I could work out if it's my mac or my iBook. :(

If you are going for 2TB drives, the WD Caviar Green drives are among the favorites. T-Mobile doesn't even have OS X in-house, let alone have the personnel to manage it.
Their servers are a mix of Red Hat and Solaris.
Their clients are Windows only.
They run Peoplesoft and vendor shrinkwrap for all business processes.
They've never built an enterprise team to develop solutions.
They don't know a damn thing about Cocoa Programming.
I'll stop here.
Either they plan to pay Apple to build their call center suite like McCaw Systems--later ATT Wireless asked NeXT, Omnigroup and various other consulting teams to write it or they are blowing smoke about OS X Leopard.
The talented system engineers who know Linux have all but moved on from T-Mobile to greener pastures like Intel.
Perhaps if T-Mobile knew a damn thing about the Enterprise I'd take some of this serious.
I'd be happy if Apple came in and did it all. At least we know it wouldn't be such a cluster-*******.

Well that's all find and dandy, but if you want to share your purchased music with your office so they can listent to your library, your out of luck.. That's sad and should be fixed..
I think what you are saying is that you want to share your purchased music with others in your office that didn't purchase the music, but I'm not sure. Try rewriting your post. Assuming that what I think you are saying is what you are actually saying, the issue of not being able to share is not something that is broken, and therefore can not be "fixed." Not being able to stream the music is part of the DRM of the iTunes Music Store. You are allowed to play the file on up to 5 computers, not stream it to an unlimited number.

i was in class when the first plane hit, but we were unaware that anything had happened. while walking back to my dorm room, one of my friends had a radio and was listening and said that the pentagon had been bombed or something like that had happened, they weren't quite sure. i was just like wtf? about five minutes later i got to my room, flipped on the tv, woke my roommate and started waking everyone on the floor. and we just sat there for the rest of the day. the remained of classes were cancelled.
