Not working for me.
- I added "# 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com" to my hosts
file.
- Downloaded iPod Touch 4G 4.1 firmware, and Shift + Clicked the restore button.
- Successfully put my device into DFU Mode (Power off, plug in, Power + Home, let go of power)
but nothing works for me.
I always get an error code (number 3thousandsomething)
Is there a way I can fix this?

So i got this iMac off eBay for just �2.15! It's a tangerine model with a 10 gig HD and 160 mb RAM, running 10.3.9. Actually came with Word for mac installed. Gonna get a usb dongle to get it on the web. My only complaint is that I can't sync my iPhone.

In the file menu, I now have an option (greyed out) for Transfer purchases from iPod...not sure what that means given you can't currently buy stuff direct from your iPod...and pretty sure it wasn't there in Itunes 6...sounds intriguing though!
Also - there a custom option for encoding rates from CD that takes you up to 320 kbps for AAC - can't remember that either in the previous version...

T-Mobile is the low-end carrier. Who on this green Earth uses them? They serve no purpose.
Cingular if you want GSM/SIM cards
Verizon if you want the widest American network
Sprint if you want cheapest/fastest unlimited data
T-Mobile if you.. um.. if you're 11 years old and think Sidekicks are cool?
The only way this will go well is if Apple does an MVNO. They need control of "the whole widget."
Why can't people get the concept of "get what works for you" and just ignore people posturing that this or that is better for them when nobody is in the same exact place as everybody else.

Another great quarter.
Regarding the cash on hand situation, which now sits at around $65 Billion... I remember Steve was quoted somewhere as saying (and this was a long time ago, maybe a decade or so) that he always wants enough cash on hand to run a company in the red for <blank> years before going bankrupt. I say <blank> because I can't remember the figure he used.. This may tie into why there is so much cash in reserve beyond the normal amount a company should have for acquisitions, emergencies, etc etc... Apple makes a lot of cash, but also spends a lot just to run the company.

I purchased the new iMac launched this week and it has a custom OSX build 10.6 that will not update to 10.6.7 and I am unable to launch my Steam copy of Portal 2 because Steam prevents the game from launching and an alert box appears saying Portal 2 requires 10.6.7. Anyone got a fix? (tried the combo update, won't install)

I guess a better question is if they'll run out on Friday. I've heard a lot of stores get shipments on Friday. On the other hand, maybe an explanation for the 5PM release is show shipments get there in time and they don't restock over night.
Tough question lol.
I can head down there at 1 but its possible I'll have a class assignment in the afternoon till around 5, then an hour drive to SLC wouldn't put me there till 6.
