I am working on a Mac Pro that is 3 years old and I have a budget to replace it. I do some intense video editing to produce a promotional piece for several months each summer/fall and then don't do much video until the following summer. I have a JVC HD camera (GY-HM100U).
The other 9 or 10 months of the year I'm doing some Adobe CS projects and office tasks.
I think FCP X looks like it's going to be lots of fun when it's released in June. There are rumblings about whether an updated Mac Pro will be out soon. Most of what I'm reading suggests it won't be until late '11 or maybe '12. Perhaps it makes sense to just get the new MacPro and wait for FCP X to become available. I can afford something like an 8 core with 24GB ram (ram mostly purchased separately of course) and I already have 23" monitors and a promax 4GB Raid 5 to keep all the video files safe.
So... buy now or wait?

I rather expected to be able to upgrade to higher resolution for a low price (say $.50/per video).
It is not Apple's decison. Do you think the content owner would allow this? I doubt it - they would want to charge again.
Anyway, think yourself lucky - the majority of the planet cannot get movies or series content from iTunes.

I'm basically looking for a list of your favorite apps, and what they do.
Games i have are fruit ninja, angry birds, sonic, and street fighter. All of them are fairly popular so nothing new there.
I use weather HD for weather, iFitness for workouts. I think iFitness is no longer available though.
Then just the apps that came with the phone, text/safari.

You could use a markup editor like Textile or Markdown.
There are also things like HTMLarea that add the buttons and make it look almost like MS Word.

And...just to prove my point. iClarified (http://iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=14467) has just posted that 4.3.1 has been jailbroken (NOT FOR iPad2!). But...look closely at what i0n1c stated...most importantly item c (quoted below):

Hi guys,
I'm working on a project in Corona SDK (omg if you never used it its amazing! I can't tell you how much faster my projects been going since I switched from hand coding everything to using Corona.)
Anyway I want to make my app universal but I can't seem to find way to load images specific to the iPad without having to scale them.
For the iPhone 3Gs and the iPhone 4G Corona uses Apples model of @2x to load different resolution images, but is there a way to also do this for iPad?
I know its a super long shot and this isn't the best forum to ask in but since I didn't buy Corona yet I don't have access to their forums.

I know this question has probably been asked many times before but for some reason I can't get it to work.
I'm having a party and would like to play the music on my macbook through my TV.
I have purchased a jack to phone lead as recommended and plugged the one end into my macbook and then the red and white ends into the tv but nothing happens.
I have tried changing AV channels to hdm1 etc but it doesn't make any difference.
All answers will be gratefully received

the process of importing differs for your various formats.
for your flash formats, plug in your camera, your content should mount like an external drive. Drag and drop to where your archiving, ie create a folder and put stuff there, organized how you like. copying the files over will not erase them on the source.
Importing DV tape is covered in the previous post.
VHS has to be digitized first. Then imported from digital master.
make a copy of the copy. Once it's on your computer your footage isn't safe, it's just on your computer. Use an external HD, back-up your material and store it in a separate location from your computer.

Well there's the clear Speck shell case.
I have the satin/matte black one on my Air and it doesn't add too much bulk/weight and it solves the hinge 'issue' (can't open with one hand easily b/c the bottom lifts up). Quite like it.
Haven't noticed any other similar cases yet (all the other 11" Air cases seem to be sleeves).

Another stunning set of results, only thing that anyone might nitpick is iPad sales but considering some were holding on for the iPad 2 and that product was DEFINITELY supply-limited it's still a superb performance and more than doubles their PC sales. Decimates the rest of the tablet space that's for sure and the q3 performance is going to be VERY interesting.

Despite a few misses, Kuo has frequently offered fairly accurate information originating from Apple's supply chain, perhaps most notably pinpointing the smaller, thinner MacBook Air (http://www.macrumors.com/2010/07/15/apple-prepping-11-6-macbook-air-and-new-ipod-touch-with-3mp-camera/) ultimately released late last year.

Hey guys question, my iPhone 3GS is 3.1.2 and won't let me down a game called Angry birds cause it says I need 4.0 or higher. Is is safe to hook up my Iphone to the itunes and upgrade up to that while my Phone is jailbroken? I haven't hooked up to iTunes in like 3 months since I Jailbroke my iPhone so I don't know if its safe or will erase everything.
