Sorry -- *APPLE*-shift-delete. I'm still carrying around Windows remnants too, so I always seem to confuse Apple and Option when I write them out. ;)
The date deleted part is a good point. And I don't have an answer for that. :(
:) Thanks - I'll try the Apple key combo when I'm back at home tonight. I suppose for the date deleted bit I'll have to find the right combo of -ctime or -atime or whatever in the UNIX find command and go that route. Just hoping to be able to do it from the GUI for convenience - esp. in situations where I want to get rid of all but one or two files older than 30 days, etc.
Thanks,
Sean

Confirmed with the store they will have walk in iPhones available. Guy said they will have people lining up by the AMC theatre doors until 6am when they open the mall doors. He didn't know about security rules about being on property before 6am. I am probably going to head down around 4:30 - 5am.

No, you don't pay a monthly fee. You do pay for the game though, but it isn't expensive. I think the Battle Chest, which contains Diablo, Diablo II and Diablo II: Lord of Destruction (the expansion) is around 30$...might be lower, not sure. Also, there's still quite a lot of people playing the game.
I just hope I can run it somehow...

Money is already withheld for Social Security every check so how hard would it be to just take income.
Everyone who pays you doesn't withhold Social Security. Only if you're an official employee. How is it withheld from your ebay or other income profits or if you're freelance? You have to turn in quarterly returns if you're freelance. When you sell items you pay on your profit minus expenses.

Have you tried deleting redsn0w and downloading it again? maybe it's the file. I had a similar problem and replacing the .exe file fixed it for me.
Yes I've tried that several times. I also tried first when the jailbreak was for 4.3.1 and the tried it again when they updated redsnow to jailbreak 4.3.2 (after I updated my device to 4.3.2 of course). I also tried using the iphone firmware stored in my itunes folder and also downloading the firmware from the dv-team link. Same results with every time. Weird!!!
Another thing I should mention was that although my model number indicated I was on the old boot rom as opposed to the fixed I got an error message saying that I was indeed on the fixed boot rom. I restored my device and tried it again using the fix boot rom option. Since then I haven't received that error message but instead what I mentioned above happens. Could this be my problem?

Heh.. I really like it.. Much more "apple-like". I do have to agree that the google ads are annoying... but all the more reason to become a demi-god!

Where's Hingham? I got to BU for school and currently live in brookline. Is this closer than the apple store in the Cambridge Galleria? I'm not sure if I'll be buying Leopard or just waiting till next week before I order a new MackBook Pro that ships with it.

Same here. There is nothing in 4.3.1 or 4.3.2 that I need and from previous experience if it ain't broke don't touch it.

Agreed. Unfortunately, The FCC has been derelict in failing to bring the wireless providers to account.
As to paying $170 to unlock an iPhone, why not simply jailbreak it and be done with it for a whole lot less money. One of the jailbreaks I have seen is quite simple, although it is specific to the particular iOS version which requires that it be done again every time there is an iOS update (after the jailbreak crew works out the new version).
The store for non-Apple apps, "Cydia" (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codling_moth), is amusingly named.
u make it sound so easy, the iPhone 4 can't be unlocked with the latest baseband yet
After the 2 year contract, I do not see a reduction in my monthly Verizon bill. I have paid for the device, so why is there no reduction?
exactly, thats how it works here in germany. u either buy it unlocked but not subsidized without a plan or u get it locked for like 1 euro and once your contract expires after 2 years u get it unlocked for free OR u pay 100 euro to get it unlocked right away which is still cheaper considering the iPhone itself was only 1 euro.

i had a hard case before and my ipod fell from my loft bed (not even close to 2 metres), and fell apart and my ipod was dead.
2 metres is over 6'. Normally, phones and mp3 players are dropped from about 3'-4'.
That said, I agree that hard cases aren't the best - they're too rigid. I think either padded silicone or leather provide better protection. I've dropped my iPod in its leather case multiple times (on hardwood, tile, concrete, whatever). The only damage it's every suffered occurred when it slipped out of the case on its way down.

That is kind of a silly statement.
What DVD Jon has done is made it possible for OTHER companies to get in on the action and offer content for US, the users of the iPod. I commend him and more importantly I look for other content that is better than 128 kbps and doesn't cost 99 cents per song.
If you want a song with better quality and is less than 99 cents then go somewhere else! Use a Zune with M$'s new online store.

Sorry, but you are quite mistaken. It is clearly a conspiracy!
Don't be silly. Tin foil will shield signals on CDMA networks, not GSM.

OK then, a little advice.
What would be a good looking way to get an ad out to clients....
Just something quick. I don't want anything fancy or interactive, just something I can fire off in an email....

Hello,
I am starting to be really confused with Image, ImageRep, View, GraphicsContext, etc.
On one hand, what I have found in books and blogs focuses mainly on recipes. On the other hand, I am finding the Cocoa Drawing Guide from Apple documentation really overwhelming.
Does anyone has something else to recommend ?
Thanks,
Paul

Its all about convergence.
If your on the go then its more convenient to play games on a smartphone - one device than carry around two.
At the moment - drawbacks over portable gaming consoles - (1) battery life (2) games on smartphones tend to have a lot less content.. but smartphone games tend to be signficantly cheaper. If you want a game containing depth then your not going to be looking at your smartphone at the moment.
In some countries its totally fine to watch TV on your smartphone too...

I can't decide which is a worse idea: Watching a movie on an iPod, or reading a book on an iPod.
I don't think it's about books, really.
From what I understand, it's rather a handy way of having some important (?) facts on the road with you, available whenever needed.
That one podBook for instance is an Apple history/specs book. Imagine being on the road and having to check the specs for some Mac. Instead of having to check it online (which might not be available where you are at that moment), you have it inside your iPod.
I stand by my point: Good idea with great potential.

I looked around out of of curiosity and got the feeling that the ATA password is not very well supported on any platform. And for Macs the Seagate FAQ is pretty clear:
At this time, Apple Mac systems with EFI (Extensible Firmware Interface) in lieu of BIOS do not support traditional ATA security passwords.
AFAIK the only existing FDE solution for OS X is PGP . I don't know anything about that product and at least one other user here on the forum feels its only a matter of time before PGP FDE on OS X creates an unrecoverable failure.
My own intention is to use Lion FDE toward the end of the year after everyone else has been beta testing it for a few months. :)
