Try the reset to factory defaults button.
It's a tiny button on the back of the powerbook where the ports are, it has a small triangle symbol next to it. (You make need a poking device)
I had a 1400cs where the monitor went crazy once. The reset fixed it.

The thing is, though, that all of this data is used by Final Cut.
That was critical information.
Use Media Manager to copy the projects.
Definitely keep the old drives for a while.

Hope more Apple products could be made in Brazil and export to the rest of Latin America.
Its a shame that only Mexico and Brazil have Apple Online Stores. Cmon Apple its 2011!

You are reading into this a bit too much.
What Apple is referring to in the TN is that xinetd/inetd were deprecated as a means for users/admin and 3rd parties to launch daemons. Instead you should use launched.
That doesn't mean that Apple cannot use them as a means for launching and maintaining their own services. And indeed they are. The implementation noted in the Network Services Admin PDF is starkly different from how launchd is used.

Check your trash folder. I just fished out my 1.0 version from there. Damn cablevision strikes again.
PS: Just confirmed that cablevision are as@@@@@es. New version DOESN'T work over VPN. Back to old version.
what do you mean the trash folder? from where?

I've tried JetPhoto and it's a dream!
It's has a really nice client on the Mac that integrates with iPhoto and, once set up, gives one click uploading via FTP. The server is a simple PHP script.
It offers some very nice goodies like a flash gallery, a choice of themes and GPS technology integration.
Oh ... and it's free.

This looks nothing short of ridiculously brilliant, and seems to be exactly what I'm after. Can't try it until this evening, but I think you've just solved my problem.
Many thanks. :)

Bloatware, unusable since like what, version 3? 4?
Isn't this exactly what we said when they killed IE. And we were right then too!

Can't you just:
[1] Use -webkit-box-reflect (as you do currently for Safari)
[2] Include -o-box-shadow (for Opera)
[3] Include -moz-box-shadow (as you do currently for Firefox)
[4] Remove the box-shadow declaration
*slaps myself in the face*
Of course, all I had to do was put -o- before the box-shadow... Don't know why I'd forgotten about Opera's prefix.
Works great, thanks. Now, just to get Internet Explorer to render the page in a way that isn't completely ugly...
Thanks for the help. Any thoughts on the design then?
EDIT: Never mind, spoke too soon. It looks like -o-box-shadow doesn't work in Opera... For me, at least. Also Opera doesn't do the border-radius on the images any more (I believe it did do so). Not sure what's happening here.

Ok AdrianK, this is what I was looking for!
So now I just need to know if there is another application that you allow to get cover arts from a specific site you wanna use.
For example: I wanna get artworks from buy.com instead of amazon.com as others programs do...

The dump command runs as root. Do you actually run the database as root with all file owned by root? Most people would make a special user just for the databse. If you are setup like that then perhaps you should run the dump as that user.
I don't use mysql but other DBMSes will refuse to run under root as that is to dangerous
I don't intend to run the dump command as a root, but was kinda using the root account while I was testing all the backup commands to make sure things don't get the permission issue.
The weird thing is that the script worked just find from command line, but did nothing from the cronjob.

i'll just post it here so if anyone else wants to do the same.
i just found a font that a member (Trimegistro) on mac themes ported. the name of the font is Candela. The post can be found HERE (http://macthemes.net/forum/viewtopic.php?pid=623585#p623585)
after you download it you will need to make a copy of it (**make sure the name is the same, aka not LucindaGrande-copy**). Then use one to replace the LucidaGrande.ttc file under /system/library/fonts make sure you totally delete this one before adding it first.
and the other to just replace the LucidaGrande.ttc file in /System/Library/Frameworks/ApplicationServices.framework/
Versions/A/Frameworks/ATS.framework/Versions/A/Resources/
ProtectedFonts/LucidaGrande.ttc
**BACK UP YOUR FILES**
empty your trash, log out, and log back in and everything should look nice and new.
if you find any other font you want to use you need FontLabStudio to change the font to a .tts file.
good luck
Excellent post, ★★★★★. Finally I can have Apple Garamond EVERYWHERE. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! One thing, though. FontLab Studio is $650!! Anybody got a suggestion for another app that can do the same thing?

Sometimes happens to me with Flash plugin under Firefox, if I do anything that uses flash for an hour or two (like play a flash-based game) it'll eat up all of my 4gb of ram . It's just a problem with the plugin though, not Snow Leopard.

Very simple - go to Crucial.com or macsales.com
Look up your machine
They will list the proper modules and prices

I was about to do the info page for "PowerPC" when I found that wikipedia already has a very complete and factually referenced entry on it (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/PowerPC) For broad topics like these, is it acceptable to use their page? Or should something else be done, like a link to wikipedia? I know much of the information on the page doesn't apply to Macs specifically, so should that be removed?
Edit: and material on the 68000 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/68000)?

Yes. Switches are generally transparent "black boxes" that require no configuration. Make sure you pick up a gigabit switch if you need the speed.
