Only the quad has it from the last few months. Mines working perfectly, I'm not about to pull it apart for pictures.
Does it resemble that of the two big black boxed one? Thats the one I have, but having had this Quad 2.5 years back I never had problems with it. I also read that the Quad's failure rating is around 1 percent compared to the dual 2.5 from 2004 and dual 2.7 from early 2005 - am I correct?

Growth stocks don't generally pay dividends. Dividend paying stocks are a safety move, trading dividends for share price growth, and are meant to attract investors. Apple doesn't need to do that.
Be happy with the insane growth. It has a 315 billion market cap, it's not "growing" to $1 trillion, sorry. Apple is a mature company.

Apologies to all, didn't know multiple folks were still working on it.

Just out of curiosity, what do you want a new Cinema Display for, exactly, that the current ones aren't doing?
i'd like thinner ones. and more connections.

I think it's wise of Steve not to overuse the "one more thing..." bit. Any other CEO would haul out that line until it gets done to death, but Steve saves it for something special. And that's what I like about it. We Mac geeks know that the next time his Steveness utters the phrase, we will get something fantastic to go along with our nerdgasms.

Check that you're using your ISP's DNS servers. I've seen similar problems where users have changed to a different ISP's DNS for troubleshooting reasons and forgotten to change them back, causing geolocation to return a non-optimal server.

I've ordered it and will see if it suits my need. You're right, with all of my searching, and I've been searching, for some reason, I did not search enough!
After I try it, I'll report further.

No worries, I was just busting balls...slow day at work.
I have a couple friends with this (want one bad, but I'm too cheap) and it's THE best in-car cradle I've ever used. You won't be disappointed. Note: you have to use the charger plug washer supplied to be sturdy, plug a 3.5mm cable from your stereo to the base of the cradle and the cable from the mount to your iphone's 3.5mm jack for aux to work. Also, wrap the cable that goes from the mount to the iphone to the back of the mount to reduce excess cable hanging. You'll know what I mean when you're setting up the unit.
I'm actually surprised this unit isn't recommanded more often on this forum.
Edit - the FM version/function is complete garbage. Don't bother with it.

Try with =ROUND(A1;1)*6-1 and the problem is gone. ;)
That's true. But which spreadsheet user is aware of this? This should be resolved by the app, not by the user.

I never had OS9, but I think I heard some of this sound in other places.
In example, the "Quack" one sound me so familiar..., maybe there is a similar sound in Win 95 / 98?
Over the years I've heard a lot of MacOS alert sounds used in TV & radio commercials, I guess because creative types were using Macs. Perhaps that's why. :)

Not in front of my computer right now, but somewhere in iTunes Preferences, either in "General" or "Devices," there is a setting for preventing automatic backups. That should allow you to skip the backup, which seems to be what is keeping your upgrade from completing. Ideally, of course, we should try to figure out what is hanging your backups, but unfortunately, I'm out of ideas about how to fix that.

What he's doing is not so bright, but that's what he's specialized in, crack DRMs, and he's old enough to want to make a buck or two, you can't blame him trying. Sure it's not a long term plan but like any full-on criminal, he will try to break into a bank before he get's caught (again) and send to prison - regardless how much people want to rally for him - it's not really legal (sure, flame me if you're a lawyer). Breaking into someone else's house and sell a copy of the key is not exactly bright not matter what you think about the house.
End of story, I hope he'll learn his lesson one day... but I doubt it. good luck but he won't survive the legal system.

You can only use 2.5" S-ATA HDDs, the biggest is currently a 1TB or 1.5TB one. 2TB HDDs are usually desktop HDDs and are 3.5" in size.
That's a good start, thank you. Saves me banging my head against a wall looking for larger. I understand that the physical height of the drive is quite important too, any ideas?

It was 10 days before my second year of Community College classes were to start. I was in bed, just sort of waking up when my dad called to me to see what was happening on the TV. I was thinking from his reactions that what was happening was another Oklahoma style bombing or something (at that point I still had not made it to the living room and seen anything on the TV yet). Well my thoughts were quickly changed after seeing the first few minutes of the coverage

All modern sound cards are good enough (read, perfect) for anyone that does not have a professional DJ set up, ten thousand dollar speakers, or something of that sort.
In that case, they'd probably use an external sound device via USB, but that's besides the point.
Anyway, I'm pretty sure the Mini and iMac both use Intel High-Definition Audio cards, which support digital output.
You can also adjust the Equalizer in iTunes if you're not happy with the bass, treble, or frequency ranges when playing music.

Funny thing about the new gawker media sites is that they pretty much lost a ton of their traffic after the switch to the new layout.

Fail design is fail.
Also ca.gizmodo.com works fine for me. But I prefer their RSS feed anyway.

What he said...
You mean AppleCare? That's not included, but I can dig-up the purchase date and see if it's still eligible. I didn't purchase Acare because it was too large a percentage of the total cost of the laptop when new and I figured I'd take my chances, knowing that it's not "super expensive" even if I had buy a completely new MB down the road.
Now, the MBP I'm getting to replace this... that might be another story ;)

The Macbook Air is GREAT product, BUT you really have to observe yourself and think will you every need a bright display, backlit keys, or fast processing(i kno the apps load FAST but exporting iMovie takes a LONG time)... if you can do without those things and NEVER will need them... GO for the MBA... if not.... user your $1000-$1500 elsewhere... thats a lot of money

Isn't the graph misleading? Is it 400 thousand units or 400 million units?
It's actually 400 *zillion* units.
