What exactly do you think people will be doing on a TV? Using CAD??! It's a fine resolution for movies, browsing, music etc.

There is a very slim chance anything goes wrong with the iMac by installing RAM. If anything, you could always re-install the Apple-supplied RAM and have them service it - they would not be able to reject your warranty. I could only see them voiding the warranty if you physically damaged the computer when upgrading, and there is a very slim chance of that. After all, 8 pages of the iMac manual are dedicated to helping a user add more memory.
Little benefit to buying RAM from Apple as you can get more for a cheaper price (like OWC). Most include a lifetime warranty.
As per the AppleCare Agreement: "An AirPort Extreme Card, an AirPort Express or AirPort Extreme Base Station, Time Capsule, an Apple-branded DVI to ADC display adapter, Apple RAM modules and MacBook Air SuperDrive are also covered under APP if used with the compatible Covered Equipment and originally purchased by you up to two years before your Mac purchase or during the term of your APP."

Well it is time for me to upgrade my current system to better work with leopard.
I'm looking to buy a Powerbook g4 Aluminum with the following minimum specs:
1.5ghz g4
512mb ram
80gb hard drive
superdrive
15"
Screen must have no imperfections and I would prefer a machine with no dents.
I would also prefer a working battery and the original box, but we'll see what I get offered.
In addition to the powerbook I would like to purchase an IBM thinkpad for work. Minimum specs below:
IBM T40,41,42, or 43
256mb ram
40gb hard drive
DVD-ROM
No dead pixels/dents
Working battery
If you have another brand of PC that is not IBM contact me anyway and I'll see if that particular model would work for me.
Let me know what you have to offer, either in a PM or posting a reply to this thread. Thanks!

Your "logistics didn't stop to ask why this was a small link", and didn't stop to ask why you care about the CEO of a company that takes money from you and gives you piles of metal and plastic in return?
Yeah that too.
Yeah that too.

Apple trying hard to combat the power of the HTC Sensation and Samsung Galaxy 2. White iphone now a slightly improved iphone. Nothing can stop the 350k phones sold every day.
Wow, they're selling 350k Sensations and Galaxy 2s every day?

The interface has been re-skinned. Before, it used to look like Snow Leopard's.
I wish Apple would revert the green timeline to the old transparent one. I know the green has been here since Lion's first build, but still. It's pretty ugly.

Does it mean that everyone will have the same screen "real estate" though? Meaning the whole OS will be the same size on a macbook as on 30 inch display? Or can you change everything accordingly?
No, the larger the display, the more real estate you'll have. However, if you compare two displays of the same physical size, but one with higher resolution, you WILL have the same amount of real estate. The higher resolution one will appear sharper.

I have a full collection of Apple service manuals and found this in the dual 2.7 take apart guide. The photos are not very detailed but it does show the 2 different cooling systems.
http://img3.imageshack.us/img3/6079/picture1rki.jpg
The revision 2 is what I have.. the delphi you have pictured here is NOT what I have.. but even so, the person whom I bought the G5 from never ever had LCS problems at all, compared to those with dual 2.5 2004 and dual 2.7 early 2005 models.
What about the different versions for the G5 Quad or late 2005 model? I, too have the service guide for my model G5, and no mention of Panasonic is in the manual.. only the revision 2 and some other one is listed.

Apologies if this has already been answered as I've ot had chance to trawl the forums yet but is the new battery life a result of new software or hardware?
Are us current 5g owners going to see an improvement with the new software?

Recommending a particular mic for a singer is fraught with risk, as the human singing voice contains way too many variables to make this a simple choice. There is no guarantee a mic will be "the best" just because it's expensive or was used in some classic recordings. What's best for me probably won't be best for you, there's only one way to be sure and that's try a variety and see. Some find a cheap dynamic mic better for them than an expensive condenser.
If you're trying to avoid buying an audio interface by going usb, I wouldn't be heading straight for the top end of the market in microphones.

Awesome! Congrats!
You've gotten to do some really awesome things and now you've got the money and time to find and do more of what you want!

Well, MS Office is a piece of software, so you kind of still have to "use this or that piece of software". If you find NeoOffice/OpenOffice (they're the same thing - NeoOffice is java-based, and OpenOffice uses X11. The only difference is that NeoOffice is a little behind on versions) handles formatting fine, then use it, and you won't have problems.
And guess what, they're both free. So why don't you go and try them out. Who knows, they might surprise you.
BTW all, dont forget Codeweavers and the other project "Cider" by another company. I can currently run Office 2003 (Outlook is the only one that complains) currently on an MBP without Windows at all 8-)....and if CIDER appears to be what it is, more and more Windows type programs can offer a wrapped version that will run naitively on Intel OSX.....say what you want...but as more and more options like this become available....Windows as an OS will just not be as important anymore....

By all means get the polarizer and use it . It'll cut glare off the water and , if you go walking around the open , 'ponded' areas of Lox. it'll darken up the sky nicely and bring up any clouds . Hat and sunblock are also a good idea if you're like me and sunburn easily.

I have a 08 iMac and a new MBA. I use my MBA 95% of the time. Having a iPad and MBA seems more odd then a iPad and iMac. Since you are getting a free ipad I would consider pairing it with the iMac. My 2nd choice would be the Ipad+MBA+24" Dell display. Again this is just personal preference and it is really what you want :D
Thanks I think I'll stick with ur choice - ipad&imac

Army PT, then coming home and getting dressed for ROTC. I was in Utah and don't listen to the radio or watch tv in the morning - so I didn't hear anything about it until the girl that was in love with my roommate (who believes milk will give you leukemia) called to tell us a plane hit the Pentagon and WTC.
Then spent the next 30 min trying to get through th jammed DC circuits to find out my Dad's doctor was getting impatient to discuss some test results and asked him to come in. He went to see the doctor instead of going to his weekly meeting at the Pentagon.

Good stuff. Im not eligible for a new phone this summer anyhow. I really hope the 2012 redesign features a bigger screen!!
Bigger screen would mean less pixel so no I rather they did more way to see information without having to swipe the phone so much, and take out that button once and for all or at least take out the whole click part of it.:)

It's hard to fathom just how high the Twin Towers stood. You could look up and just be in awe.
I've never actually been to NY but seeing some of the highrises in my city, I can only begin to imagine just the sight of seeing both towers collapse in a spectacular cloud of smoke and tremendous cacophony of twisted metal beams and hailstorm of glass.
