Apple has chosen to use the radeon 9000 because it is $70 vs $125.
The new radeon 9K's are a very cheap chard because ATI has integrated many
of it functions on to one chip. The 150 dollars that ATI quotes for the
price of the 9000 pro is just a special price for us mac users.

I used these guys for a professional resume (VP level) a few years ago. They do technical resumes as well. As I recall, they will do a re-write within 60 days if it's not working out for you.

You can setup AppleShare with a serial cable and install software this way. SHare the CD-ROM drive over the network and install your software onto the Duo over the serial cable via AppleShare with the chooser. This is pretty slow though and you will have to be patient.

Reasons why I'm waiting. Note these haven't been confirmed, but I'm thinking
With Thunderbolt connectivity they might:
Add a FW 400 and 800 port
Add USB 3.0 Ports
Add ethernet
Get rid of the USB connecting cable since it could go over Thunderbolt.
In other words, make the ACD almost into a dock.
I'm in the market for 2 ACD's when the revision comes out.

I was hoping that having a render going would be sufficient to tell the system that the computer is in use and do not sleep.
Is there something else that will?

I wonder if we started pooling some money together as a bounty for the first team to jailbreak it, if it would motivate more people to work on it. I wouldn't mind throwing in $20-30.
Either way I know I'm going to donate some to whatever team puts their release out first, it's really cool that these guys put in all their free time to do things like this. I can't wait to play some snes games with the wii classic controller pro on my iPad :D
I hope superbrothers sword and sorcery is good, I just bought it and I'm hoping it's as good as everyone says it is.
Don't think the people that do this, do it for money. Think they do it for the fact they can do it. That is why I think the jbs are always free.

If you are going for 2TB drives, the WD Caviar Green drives are among the favorites. It's been reported they have some issues regarding the high load cycle counts (http://www.google.com/#hl=en&sugexp=ldymls&xhr=t&q=WD%20caviar%20green%20high%20load%20cycle%20count&cp=10&pq=wd%20green%20high%20load%20cycle%20count&pf=p&sclient=psy&aq=f&aqi=&aql=&oq=WD+caviar+green+high+load+cycle+count&pbx=1&bav=on.2,or.r_gc.r_pw.&fp=6cbe03e6833a46ef) due to the firmware...

It's a bit of work, but the high load cycle counts due to excessive head parking can be prevented.

Yep...and as an aside:
There is no good reason why you shouldn't be doing your TM backups hourly as is native to the program since you have a desktop. With a laptop I can see situations where you don't have a connection to the HDD occasionally.
Your frequency of "every few days" means that TM has to do a larger backup each and every time while the hourly backup will do tiny backups...only what has changed that hour...sometimes nothing if nothing has changed (overnight for example) sometimes a few GB if you rip a DVD perhaps. It runs in the background, so it doesn't impact you at all.
The one time you accidentally delete a file you started working on this morning (and is therefore is not in your 'every few days' backup) is the time when you will be so happy you went back to TM's default settings. :)

Wrong on all counts.
1. My jailbroken iPad 1 is perfectly usable thanks & I am very happy with it.
2. I don't defend Apple. I know what they are and accept that.
3. Jail breaking will never be made 'illegal'. what possible crime could it be?
1) Point made, to make it usable the way you want, it must be JB'd.
2) You defend their actions while acting against them. That's hypocrisy.
3) Sorry, didn't mean illegal. They'll lobby washington to pass laws making it more difficult for individuals to defend themselves behind existing protections. It's politics 101.

It's an April's Fool gag, ipad2 has not been jailbroken.
The 4.3.1 exploit of ionics isn't for iPad 2 owners, but it's not an april fools, he gave it to them a few days ago.
Presently, only poisixninja and the chronic team are working on iPad 2 jbs afaik. Comexs exploit was patched in 4.3.1 and it doesn't seem like he's going to release his old 4.3 exploit, although I could be wrong. He was waiting for chpwn to provide an iPad 2 bottom dump but I don't know whats going on with that. His parody account claims he just needs to finish the artwork on the new jb, but im pretty sure that actually is an April fools joke as it's not from his regular account.
As for all others, can't comment on other ppl not in the scene, can't know if they are legit or not unti they release. If anything changes through twitter or anything I'll post here. Late.

Who didn't see this coming? Microsoft is crashing...hard!!!
Continuing to make a product that isn't selling would be more likely to crash a company than to kill it off and move the service to products that are selling, no?

The reason MacBU has had to abandon VBA is that the Mac compiler won't work on Intel Macs. And Microsoft has already announced that VBA is being deprecated on Windows (it will go on working for a few years, then will end). So there's no point devoting enormous efforts to making a new compiler only for it all to go away shortly afterwards. There is some reason to believe that eventually VB.NET will work on the Mac as it does on Windows, as a cross-platform solution. Until then, VBA macros need to be translated to AppleScript. There can be no better signal that MacBU is committeed to the Mac than to see the huge investment they have made in AppleScript. Office's AppleScript is already working as of Office and it mirrors the VBA model identically: macros can be translated to AppleScript _now_, and will then "just work" in the next version of Office too.
I was actually wondering about just this, if MS is going to a new open standard for documents, and apple also does in their own products, wont word be just another nice frontend that performs the same functions as most other apps. Most people, me included, use Office for mac for compatibility, if thats out of the way I wont use office anymore. Will the new open format (ODF I believe) use its own scripting language, or what?

I was at work yesterday installing some ram into a new eMac and I quickly ran the 'Apple Hardware test kit' over it...
Under one of the Panels in the test kit it has a BATTERY section.. marked 'Right' and 'Left'
However, no models of Apple Laptop/dekstop computer have been available with Dual batteries until well after these Test Kits surfaced years ago now.
I suggest you try on your iMac or eMac with test kit 1.2.1 (this is what i used).. Its under the profiler tab on the top right...
Interesting huh.. I doubt this was left in accidently, as the last powerbook that support two batts, (The PISMO) never came with the Test Kits...

If they had them, and consequently added probably $100 or more to the price of the display, would you actually commit to buying one... today?
Possibly, but that's a limitation on LCD tech in general which will get better with time, but Apple LCD's at present are probably among the best computer LCD displays available. I don't know what else you'd do until the tech itself improves... except to say this: Those who are really serious about color, clarity and contrast should stick to CRT's for the time being. Nothing beats a Trinitron in this arena.
Probably... but the greater likelihood is that graphic designers who tend to buy the higher end Apple LCD's don't. Matte displays are far better for accurate color and contrast. Glossy displays falsely enrich the image, which is a problem if you're trying to maintain a color match from prepress to proof.
BANG ON MAN, BANG ON.

So, I tried to use iFile to edit, but when I navigate to the general.plist file, I can;t do anything. If I open it, I see a couple of values, but nothing like what is shown. This is directly on the iPad. I also have iPhone explorer on my desktop and I can't open the file there either.
When you click it, there should be an option to edit as either a plist or as text. I couldn't find the proper key when I edited as plist, so just do text. The easier way might just be to download the files from the link and copy them over to the Preferences.app via iPhone Explorer, iFunBox, Cyberduck, etc.
Great find OP BTW!
Edit:
This is the one I used. It has links to the files to just download

Nope, vniow, I can't load it in Opera, Firefox, Camino, IE6 or 7. Only Safari. On Windows I had to download the file and open it in GIMP.
EDIT: OK. Loading it with Quicktime's Picture Viewer on Windows works. Strange. :)

I'm sure whoever posted the link to yet another lame !@#$@ iphone blog is just trying to drum up business for their site.
Oh what a surprise, ad banners and no news.
You know it's a crap site they are posting when they have to obscure their domain name using a url shortener.
Another person added to my ignore list. They clearly have nothing to add to any discussion here.
Jesus, it is shortened because I pulled the link off of twitter. Get the stick out of your ass.
By the way, guides =/= hacking. GuidethatJailbreak would be a better name for your website. Stop trying to make money by riding the coattails of real hackers.

The media center market is a dismal failure. And that's because a computer is too expensive for the living room. A few people will use things like minis, but it's impossible to make it cheap enough to be a mainstream solution.
This is true. People do not want to use their computer as a TV, it is impractical. but having access to your computer's media on your TV is a completely separate notion, and a good one at that.
i think theyve nailed this one.
