I wonder why the 2 plans have to be mutually exclusive. Why not download the whole database when you get it, for when you might not get coverage. And then automatically update when you do have coverage. When going somewhere, give priority updating to the current route and then download everything else. Maybe allow current route to be updated with EDGE/3G while whole database updates require Wi-Fi. Just my 2�
Tom Tom is moving towards this... the latest version allows users to submit map update info, and then allows other users to download that info. I'm not sure what it includes because I haven't played with it, but I have noticed it downloading the updates for me every couple of weeks (over 3G, not wifi). It asks when you start up if you want to download the updates.

What a cool little widget :) It actually made me reinstall F@H on my comps, so three cheers to you :D

I use Audition for the same purpose. I preferred the application when it was Cool Edit, I feel Adobe have bloated it out ever so slightly. But beggars can't be choosers - It's an important tool for me.
I've had a go with "SoundBooth", its literally the most basic editing pulled from the original Cool Edit code with a few effects pallets. Defiantly not enough for me. It runs well though, nice-ish interface, not sluggish. I personally wouldn't pay more than £30 - £40 for it, its just too basic.
Audition has definitely suffered from the "Adobe Bloat" syndrome and I would happily move on from it, but every audio app out there is either focused on recording musicians in multitrack or simple single track editing. Soundtrack has a lovely user interface and excellent integration for video work, but can't handle the simple things radio users need.
FWIW, I discovered today that HairerSoft is working on a pro version of Amadeus. It is only available as a beta at this point, but I have downloaded it for experimentation. Apparently, they have added multitrack support. You can learn more here: http://www.hairersoft.com/AmadeusPro/AmadeusPro.html

Maybe I'm reading the letter wrong or perhaps just missing the point but it seems to me that Apple isn't claiming either the term "podcast ready" or "mypodder" but actually trying to stop Infostructure Solutions Inc from registering them as trademarks.
If Infostructure Solutions are successful in their application they'd be able to stop Apple and anybody else for that matter from using either of terms (or anything closely related). The letter makes it clear it doesn't object to the use of Podcast Ready as the company's name just to it's application to trademark the name.
It seems to me that Apple are the good guys here for once, slapping down a company that is trying to trademark terms that are already in use albeit in a niche market!

However, if the people involved were a bit smarter, then these parts would be from a production run not ordered by Apple. Under those circumstances, depending on how the contract is worded, there may have been enough wiggle room for them to sell these parts, especially given the fact that the actual Apple parts never went into formal production.
Finally, while it's arguably quite impressive that this kid was able to sell about 450 kits, to the tune of $130K, it's important to remember that this doesn't mean that he's made $130K. I would think it much more likely that he's getting maybe 10%-20% of that. Still, $13,000-$26,000 is not a bad haul for a couple months work...

I just got the 32GB wi-fi only version for $399 but now I regret it, I wish I would have purchased the 16GB 3G version from AT&T for $429. I think connectivity is more important....oh well, I can live with it!

No. A car that gets 50mpg is likely much lighter than a car that gets 8mpgs... and hence doesn't put near as much wear on the road
Consider, if all cars were the size of a Smart ForTwo, or the awaited ForFour, a two lane road could become 3 lanes. ;)

Things are about to change...
In order to let version 1.0 of this widget really blow your socks of, some changes had to be made on the ExtremeOverclocking side.
The guys are great in adding some extra info i requested. Small bummer: the current version of the widget doesn't work anymore (it has no idea the xml file changed - no AI yet, sry). I'll try to do a quick fix by the end of the week (should be faster, just not in the mood right now :cool: ). 1.0 should be out before the end of the month (september that is ;)).

I'd like to see Apple go back to silver or white keyboards. I couldn't care less about key lighting but don't really like the black keys. Other than that, a gradual increase in speed and features without sacrificing the cool-running aspect of the computer is all I hope for.

wonder if this is why direcTV never came out with this functionality. Generally they are ahead of the curve (TWC) with comes to actually providing value for the customers, to some degree.

Girls don't think it's a big deal; as long as someone isn't pushy or annoying, they don't mind if someone asks, and they find it flattering, even when they say they're not interested. As I understand it the drugs they use are poisons and the job of the anestisiologist (?) is to give you just enough to nearly kill you and keep that dose constant throughout the op, so your more dead than asleep.
Probably best not to try and fight with the guy trying very hard to not-quite-kill-you!

In CT we are taxed I believe 50 cents on every gallon. The problem is that as gas prices rise people buy less of it and the taxes dry up.

I don't need it having access to my phone (yeah, you say it won't... but this is Facebook... do you really trust them that much? Facebook is very sleezy and does everything possible in loopholes to get your information like changing settings and not telling people that they need to change their settings to *keep* their privacy settings *the same*. I'd say they are far worse than Google which people freak out about).
While I'm totally addicted to Facebook I admit, I trust them as far as I can throw my car.

Go to your applications folder and drag the program(s) to the trash. Empty trash and done.
You can try repair disk permissions in disk utility too. If that all doesn't help, put in the osx DVD and reinstall the os.

It's only been a bit of fun, but the homeless charity Shelter have received a large slice of cash in the process (http://www.justgiving.com/ratm4xmas) and are due to get more from RATM themselves.

well until i have friendly user interface, imovie to edit my movies, final cut pro to my more experinced work, idvd for my easy to do dvds, and dvd studio pro, itunes for my music, stability which i dont get in windows xp, a laptop that looks as good as it functions i may be all windows. the ONE thing i hate about windows is when it screws up i gotta format and start over, with my mac i can put in the cd, hold down the c key, and reinstall the system while all my stuff is un touched. me switching to completly to mac has a much shorter list than my list to switch completly to pc. if my mac gets the games i play i will no longer have a pc.
