Canada was well aware of who they were voting for. It's not like the conservatives are a new party gaining power. Harper has been there for a while. All the small businesses I know in my area voted conservative because they knew the liberals and NDP were going to attempt gutting them.

Their entire careers depend on maintaining an OS that needs constant maintenance. Windows is inherently broken, and an entire industry grew up to take full advantage of exactly that. Too funny.
Anyone who knows anything about IT knows that "Windows" is not "broken". It's just extremely "breakable". :p The fact that a million ppl try to write viruses to steal money from the million banks that use it and have a billion customers that use it doesn't help either. But that's where professional security IT comes in. Not even a Mac is "immune" to this, so pro Mac IT should use security too.
The reason why carreers are made on "maintaining Windows" is because it's POWERFUL. Why would a group of engineers, developers, and MBA's constanty buy an OS that is > 3x more costly than a Mac OS...just up front? And require numerous certifications beyond a "CS degree" to upkeep? And this is just the "desktop" version, never mind the server version which is the leader in the server industry. No...it's NOT u/linix sorry...because "web page servers" are not the only computers in data centers!
The only "entire industry who grew up to uptake Windows" is the average person who tried to copy what they used for work...and in some cases, the software packages from "IT friends". They may be stuck with something they can't handle if they aren't careful about downloading porn, but it still doesn't change the fact that Windows is much more powerful and hence requires much more "computer-savviness" to use on average.

Again, you are living in the past. Macs are now fast and a very good deal. Premiere is not a pro video app and is not optimized for the Mac, Imovie(a free app) and Final cut render much faster. Even with the new update today I still couldn't log in, it wasn't until I turned off BiteSMSsb in Mobilesubstrate via SBsettings and the Facebook app finally worked!

LOL! I'm sure glad I wasn't the only one thinking this. Previous notices came out with the update. Oh well. I was so hopeful that it was for a 3rd update.
You know, these downloadable updates seem to be more substantial than simple updates and their build iterations are also indicative of somer much more serious changes. I hope they keep with the downloadable updates until we need to test the installer more.

I think peecees are a great value if, you aren't using pci cards and you build your own but I just got the new dual 867 and it rocks! If your doing video you should check out final cut pro on OSX.2 Very solid and very fast!
I adimit I don't have the very newest pc with the newest apps but the reason the Mac is now an even better deal is the very real speed of the new Machines,the new OS, and the Included apps are very good. Final cut does not exist for the Pc, its nearest competitor, from avid is about $700 more and not as good,so if you factor in everything,the New Macs are the best values in a long time. It will be interesting to see what happens on both sides next year:D

All he wants from Google is to not be adverse to his goals.
His goals are both specific and fuzzy.
Steve is skinny. The turtleneck and the crossed legs are warming techniques. My son is skinny and he does the same thing. He needs to fly rockets at DeAnza College like Steve has. I opt for Steve to invite him.
Steve made a PUBLIC comment about Google about the "don't be evil" thing. Whatever they are talking about you can be sure it is Steve holding him to the fire on that promise.
You what the best part of that photo is? Both these guys felt like it was fine for them to sit outside a place and chat to begin with. That is the sort of CEO I want running a corporation.

While I personally think that OSX 10.7 Lion will be made available via DVD, I also think there will be USB-Stick versions. I cannot think of a way that Lion will be made availabe via app store, this makes no sense - maybe they will sell just the update from SL to Lion via the appstore, but definitely not the retail versions.

I downloaded and installed it last night. Ran great. The default settings set everything to "Medium" for my computer. Ran completely smooth. No lag or issues. That game is awesome.

Sorry, guys. New rules for the post-PC era. Complexity is OUT. Get with the game. Forget conventional IT logic. It no longer applies.
Anyone who chooses the simplest operating system (like OS X and iOS, obviously) to accomplish the same tasks *is* savvy.
Gotta remember that those to OSes are locked down to certain hardware. Not so much Macs, as there is quite a big selection of Macs you can buy... But as for phones, you have a choice out of 1 phone.

Exactly, whats silly is the "ALL are thicker" or "NONE are thicker" garbage. It's clearly a QA issue Apple is having with the phones...which I think is sad given the time it took for them to release. :(
Yep. Probably an accidental run of back plates made with slightly thicker than spec glass. The difference in thickness is not significant enough that someone is going to notice during the assembly or packaging process, so it wouldn't necessarily have been caught until after shipment.
(I say back plates, because all the side-by-side comparisons have the metal band appearing at the same place in the photos, with only the back to account for the difference in thickness.)

Hmm, this could work in Apple's favour if, for example, the unthinkable happened and CS3 was released as Intel-only. It'd force a lot of pro users to upgrade their hardware to Intel Macs. Then again it could piss them all off into gradually abandoning the Mac platform and switching to PC.
It's not a good precedent, but inevitable at some point. Surprising that it's happening already though.

I unplugged everything and that made it work.
Network Cable

I didn't think to unplug them one at a time to control for where the problem was. Oh well. If your drives comes out and snaps back in right away without updating the firmware. Remove all devices before rebooting.
Same here. It would not work till I removed stuff. If I had time, I would have done it methodically, to save time for others, but I'm super busy. Got the tone and the in/out disk tray, then no update until I removed the two USB cords, the FW 800, FW400 cords, replaced the FCP keyboard and Logitech mouse with the stock ones and, for good measure after it shut down, the network cable.
Then it worked fine.
Plugged in the network cable for the second update and it worked with that.

Import the CD, then click on the Browse button (top-right, look like an eye).
Scroll down the album menu to the album. Select it and key Apple-I, it will ask you if you want to edit multiple items, you say yes, and then enter the name you want in the artists field...
