Why does everyone get so sensitive whenever someone points out a difference in race, culture, etc? It's not like someone said "That <insert racial slur here> can't even say iLife right! What a retard!" Everyone wants to be different and unique, but no one can handle their differences pointed out in a humorous way.

It doesn't say it. It does say "sold separately" under the Mac category. If it were truly honest advertising, it should either say "freely available" or even "not necessary".

Interesting article on how the Apple ads are turning off potential buyers in the recent InfoWorld. I blogged my thoughts on the campaign and WWDC here (http://www.donmappin.com/?p=189).
I have to disagree with a lot of what you say, as you're looking it at (as you would, working in IT) from a purely technical point of view. Marketing does not work that way. What did Budweiser do? They made themselves the "fresh" beer, as all their beer would be on the shelves within 24 hours of leaving their factories. However, every single company does exactly the same thing - only you don't realise it. The mistake people make with these adverts is that they look at them, knowing the technical side of things, and wish they were present. When was the last time you saw a car advert that purely focused on the selling points? No longer are products being sold for their features, but for their story and lifestyle offering.
When IT experts criticise the campaigns, they're erroneously doing so - because they're not the target audience and never will be. When you read it in the New York Times, or an IT specialist magazine, then you'll read all about specs, performance and so on, but not on TV.
The adverts have resulted in a lot of media attention, so are they successful in that respect? I don't know, but the more people aware of your product, the more potential customers you have. It's like direct mail - if you hit them once, there's a very high chance they'll forget you, but if you follow it up with an e-mail, and then phone them, your conversion rate is greatly increased. So the only model they're going to sell is the Elite Slim one once the supplies on the current Arcade and Pro are out?
It's not call an elite or a slim. It is just called Xbox 360 and then the Hard Drive size. My friend at gamestop said there should be a different model (either with a smaller hard drive or no hard drive) coming before the end of summer, due to their current xbox 360 arcade inventory.
Also, Engadget (http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/18/new-xbox-360-gets-a-proper-teardown-analysis-power-and-noise-re/) has a breakdown of the insides of the system. The system is quieter and uses less power.

just looked at the preferences and under settings it was set as no preference, does that mean big WU's? i dont think the G5 has the muscle to kick the big WU's under the deadlines.
The G5 doesn't have the power for big wu's, from my experience they don't make good folding machines which is too bad as there are a lot of them still out there.

With the Xserve getting canned, it's likely that Apple will shift Lion server hard towards SOHO needs and further away from the needs of larger enterprise environments.

Hope the new 360 is RROD-proof.
RRoD is for "general hardware failure" - no electronics are 100% safe from hardware failure. There'll no doubt still be some cases of the RRoD, but how bad it will be in comparison to the 'legacy' 360 is what we have to wait for.
It's kind of an ugly design. It screams of somebody trying too hard to make it look pretty. And seriously they're just now including built in wifi?
Yeah, it honestly looks like a hybrid between the old 360, the old fatty PS3 and the Wii - it has the 360's weird concave curves (albeit sharper and uglier), the fatty PS3's glossiness and touch sensitive power/eject buttons (who wants to bet MSFT was waiting for Sony to take this out of the slim PS3 before implementing it in the 360?), not to mention it also looks kind of like a black Wii that someone has taken to with a baseball bat.

Am I the only one that thinks all of this "No new iPhone until September" stuff is just a result of Apple's attempts to keep iP5 under wraps? After last year, I bet the security around iPhone 5 is intense...
I bet it comes out this June as it's supposed to. A5, double RAM, Double capacity, *fingers crossed* 4" screen, and a couple more features that no one thought of, but can't live without ;)

I remember having something my brother threw in my nose removed [damn little brother...] I screamed whenever the doctor came near me... The only way for them to remove it is to put me out... I remember one doctor held my head [since I was scared of needle too] and one inserting the needle... I could feel the liquid... then i looked at the light bulb and thought "there's a spot on the..." waking up is tiring indeed... you just feel so heavy, all you want to do is go back to sleep...
